Merrett Loggingโs base camp is in Penola, South Australia. However, we have a broader service area with a depot in Mount Gambler and deliver as far as ย Colac, and Geelong. We work within South Australia and Victoriaโs ย green triangle, which spreads between Portland, Hamilton, Penola and Millicent. Merrett Logging is looking for an experienced heavy vehicle mechanic to join our growing team in the Green Triangle Region.
If youโre a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or have strong experience working on forestry or heavy diesel equipment, we want to hear from you.
๐ง ABOUT THE ROLE
Working across our modern forestry fleet, youโll be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing a range of industry-leading machines both in the field and workshop.
Key responsibilities include:
โข Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems
โข Performing preventative maintenance and diagnostics
โข Supporting operators and working closely with management
โข Maintaining high safety standards across all tasks

ABOUT YOU
โข Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or similar experience
โข Strong understanding of hydraulics and diesel-powered machinery
โข Forestry or heavy equipment experience highly regarded
โข Positive attitude and ability to work within a team environment

This week, Merrett Logging was fortunate to host contractors from across Australia, alongside representatives from John Deere in Finland, America and Australia, to showcase the new H Series Harvesters and Forwarders.
The new H Series brings together smarter connectivity, advanced automation and data-driven technology designed to improve productivity and performance out in the field.
It was a proud moment for Merrett Logging, the people we employ and the forestry industry as a whole. It was fantastic to bring so many passionate people together to share ideas, experiences and the future of forestry.
