We harvest our softwood every 15 years, only taking what we need without depleting our sources. Sustainability is ensuring we leave a better world for future generations.
Local Roots, Nationwide Reach
Merrett Logging’s base camp is in Penola, South Australia. However, we have a broader service area with a depot in Mount Gambler and deliver as far as  Colac, and Geelong. We work within South Australia and Victoria’s  green triangle, which spreads between Portland, Hamilton, Penola and Millicent. If you’re in the area, don’t hesitate to call us for all your forestry harvesting and haulage needs.

🎄 Merrett Logging – 2025 Christmas Party 🎄
Friday night we started to wrap up another massive year for Merrett Logging with our end-of-year Christmas party at the beautiful Thyme at The Lakes. A great chance for our team to come together and celebrate everything we achieved throughout 2025.
A huge congratulations to Snow and Pat Merrett, who were recognised for an incredible 40 years in forestry. A milestone built on hard work, innovation, and the values that still shape our business today.
We also celebrated two important service milestones — Robert Preece and Dale Bunnik, both reaching 10 years with Merrett Logging and receiving a gold watch in honour of their dedication and contribution over the past decade. Congratulations, Preecy and Buns!
A special thank you to Bridgette Tilby, who stood in and delivered a speech on behalf of Matt Tilby, who is currently battling a brain tumour. Bridgette, your strength and willingness to step up for Matt and the team meant a lot to everyone in the room. We continue to keep Matt and the Tilby family in our thoughts. 💙
